Encouraging MSMEs to Upgrade to Face the Potential of a Global Recession

Jakarta, 20 December 2022 - Facing the potential for a global recession in 2023, relevant stakeholders such as the Ministry of Economy (Kemenko) and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce (KADIN) are holding a grand event Gebyar 100,000 Food Stalls and Practicing Pandai which takes place on 16-18 December 2022. Activities that aims to encourage Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to move up this class involving various relevant stakeholders ranging from local, central, to private governments such as PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa Tbk (IDX: WMPP or WMP).

The event which lasted for 3 days at Banteng Field, Central Jakarta presented various food products from all over Indonesia, including attended by the Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection of the Republic of Indonesia, I Gusti Ayu Bintang Darmawati, S.E, M.Sc. The event is a very good interaction space for MSMEs, women's cooperative groups, and food producers such as WMP to work together to provide and bring the best food closer to the community.

Puti Retno Ali, Chief People Officer and Corporate Secretary, PT Widodo Makmur Perkasa Tbk explained that the company will support the government's efforts to ensure the availability of food for the people, especially in facing the potential for a global recession next year.

In the 3-day event, WMP presented various variants of high-quality food products such as beef through the WMeat brand, poultry meat through the W99 brand, to processed meats such as sausages (Royal Java Brand), nuget (Wima Nuget Brand), meatballs, and bakery. The company also opens space for interaction with women's cooperative groups and individual MSMEs for collaboration opportunities.

Fulfilling the protein needs of the Indonesian people is still a concern for many people, considering that the percentage is still relatively low compared to other ASEAN countries. Therefore, the Company provides a special scheme for prospective MSME and Cooperative partners who wish to work together in presenting quality protein products for the community.
